Best Dressed Window Winners!

Culm Valley Carpets are proud to announce that after only 6 months we have been awarded Cullomptons Best Dressed Window!

As part of this years Cullompton Town Festival, a best dressed window competition was announced to all shop owners in the town.
After revamping the whole showroom from the beginning of the year, Culm Valley Carpets have always been proud to show off their creativity.
The winning window consisted of a summer theme - deck chairs, beach huts, kites, ice cream vans, but the twist comes when you notice the entire window is constructed of recycled carpet, vinyl and underlay.
Shop owners Marc and Mel Helliwell are ecstatic about their winning window having enlisted their daughter to regularly update the front.
When the award was announced, Marc was greeted by the Mayor of Cullompton and other officials, bearing a trophy and photographers.

Cleaning Tips

When caring for your carpet, there are a few things to watch out for.
To ensure you get the most out of your new carpet, aim to remove loose dirt and dust particles from the carpet pile.
One way to manage this is Vacuuming with a high quality vacuum with a beater bar and brush two or three times a week depending on foot traffic. Speaking of foot traffic, a large, strong doormat can reduce the dirt from outside coming inside.
Planning your carpet colours can also help prevent unwanted visible damage to your carpets- for example try and avoid light carpets near external entrances.
For more tips on carpet cleaning visit Culm Valley Carpets and talk to your local floor covering specialist.

Carpet Recycling in the UK

Every year 400,000 tonnes of carpet is wasted in the UK.
Many carpets are made from materials which still have value after use. They are made from synthetic and natural fibres which can be recycled into things such as insulation and sport surfaces.
At Culm Valley Carpets we understand the extensive uses our flooring can have; because of this, we aim to use our waste material to create displays which can be reused over time. To see what we can do with flooring, check out our window on Cullompton High Street.
